We are an agro-industrial Argentinian Company with more than 115 years of history. We are leaders in sugar and paper production and we have major participation in the fruits and citric juice, alcohol, bioethanol, meat and cereals.
Committed with the country development, Ledesma employs more than 6,000 individuals who work mostly in the province of Jujuy, where the company was founded and where more than 40,000 hectares have been devoted to the harvest of our main raw material: the sugarcane. This crop, which is annually renewed, is totally utilized.
WHO WE ARE
Ledesma is a Corporation (Sociedad Anónima) and its highest decision maker Body is the Shareholders Meeting. The Board of Directors is in charge of the company´s strategic management and operational activities are conducted by the General Manager.

WHAT WE DO
From sugarcane juice we produce Sugar – the Company´s foundational product – and alcohol, which is also used to produce bioethanol, the gasoline blending component that is being used throughout the country.
We have been using sugarcane fiber to manufacture paper for more than 50 years. We have added value by transforming it into reams, copybooks, school spares and illustration paper, among other products. Furthermore, fiber waste and the sugarcane core are disposed to biomass boilers so as to generate clean energy, which is later used in the company´s industrial processes.

OUR PRODUCTS
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
In our Research Institute located in Salta, Chacra Experimental Agrícola Santa Rosa, we conduct agricultural research applied to sugarcane. Advances in biotechnology allow us to develop new varieties based on research in molecular biology, genetics and applied biochemistry.
Our research and development area also includes 9 (nine) trial fields where our new varieties are assessed and best practices for soil preservation, fertilization and plague and disease control are being tested.
